Volunteer Spotlight: Mitch Halsey

In this day and age, time is quickly becoming our most precious commodity which is why we’re always thrilled to welcome new volunteers. For 6 months now and counting, Mitch Halsey has made time for us every other Monday covering the evening shift.

Mitch was no stranger to volunteering as he had offered his services to the Knoxville Leadership Foundation for a variety of projects, but he was looking for an additional outlet where he could make a difference. And make a difference…he does! Phones need answering, Mitch will do it; new family checking in…Mitch has it covered; a load of donations arriving...no problem, Mitch will take care of it.

When he’s not on duty at the House, he stays busy as the Senior Project Manager for an engineering consulting firm and divides the rest of his leisure time between his lovely wife, bike riding, tinkering around the house, and spoiling his yellow lab, Abby.

When asked what he enjoys most about being part of our House, Mitch replied, “It’s been great getting to know the people who work here and having the opportunity to help our guests. It’s made me more thankful for the blessings that I have.”
